Pumpkin Pie Smoothie

Throw it in a blender:

  • 1 C butternut squash (*see notes)

  • 1 C milk of choice

  • 2 tsp pumpkin pie spice

  • 1 scoop vanilla protein powder (I used Vital Proteins vanilla, hence the little vanilla bean specks you'll see pictured!)

  • 1/2 frozen banana (if it's not frozen, no worries but frozen makes it so much thicker and creamier! I always keep halved bananas in the freezer for smoothies)

  • 1 T almond or cashew butter

  • 1/4 tsp maple extract

  • *for the butternut squash, I cook it in advance (either steam in the microwave or bake in the oven) and once it cools, I freeze it! This gives me creamier smoothies because I use it in place of ice cubes!! You could also sub frozen pumpkin purée here.xo, Celiac Sweetie
