Burger Bowls with Special Sauce

Gluten & Dairy Free Burger Bowls with Special Sauce

Featuring Bushel Boy Farms cucumbers and tomatoes! Locally grown in MN, and the most consistently perfect produce I have been finding these days. Recipe below for one serving.

Burger bowl ingredients:

  • ⅓ C ground beef (brown 1 lb of ground beef, season with S&P, minced garlic, add 1 T GF worcestershire sauce)

  • 1 C chopped butter lettuce

  • Sweet potato wedges or fries (soak in cold water for 30+ minutes, pat dry, toss in avocado oil, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, S&P, air fry at 390 F x 16 min, tossing half way through)

  • 1  mini cucumber, thinly sliced

  • ½ C tomatoes from the vine (or cherry tomatoes), quartered

  • 1 yellow onion, sliced and caramelized (saute over medium-high heat in 1 T oil, or butter if not DF. Once they begin to brown, add a splash of tamari and a drizzle of honey and continue sauteing until soft and brown)

  • 5-6 burger pickle slices

  • 2 slices cooked bacon, chopped

Special sauce ingredients:

•½ C mayo

•¼ C ketchup

•1 T relish

•1 tsp pickle juice

•2 tsp yellow mustard

•2 T coconut sugar or brown sugar

•1 tsp white wine vinegar

•¼ C very finely diced yellow onion

•¼ tsp garlic powder

•¼ tsp paprika

•¼ tsp black pepper

•¼ salt

•Sprinkle of cayenne if you like spice

1. Start with a bed of chopped butter lettuce

2. Top with freshly cooked ground hamburger, caramelized onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, pickles, bacon, and lastly sweet potato fries or wedges

3. Whisk (or purée if you want a smoother sauce) all special sauce ingredients and top your bowl with desired amount. Mix it up and enjoy - optional to add some shredded cheddar if you can do dairy.

Quantities of the bowl ingredients are for one serving. Double recipe if needed!
