Restaurant Guide AZ
Traveling with Celiac can be tricky… I have compiled a list of spots I tried in Arizona, as well as spots that were recommended as reputable that I did not get around to trying. The ones on the list that I tried are spots that I felt safe eating at and did not have any reaction to. I hope this guide can be helpful. Safe travels!
Spots I tried:
Farm & Craft, Scottsdale
True Food Kitchen, 9 AZ locations
Flower Child, Scottsdale
Blancos Tacos + Tequila, 7 AZ locations. Dedicated GF fryer!
Jewel’s Bakery & Cafe, Phoenix. 100% GF
Chorizo Hash Bowl from Jewel’s
Jewel’s Bakery and Cafe is 100% gluten-free! This breakfast was delicious- crispy house potatoes, spicy chorizo, two eggs, and chipotle aioli. I also tried fried pickle chips (vegan, too!), cinnamon sugar donut holes with maple syrup, brunch tacos, egg white lean omelette with turkey sausage and avocado crema, and chicken and waffles. This spot is a MUST!
The most beautiful spot to enjoy a drink while the sun sets over the mountains. Happy hour is 4-6pm and they have lots of fun cocktails— I had the Black Satin which was: vodka, blackberry compote, orange, and thyme. That was easily my favorite cocktail of the trip! It is located inside of Sanctuary on Camelback (a resort) and I recommend getting there at least an hour before sunset to ensure you can grab a spot with a view!
Spots I didn’t get to but were recommended:
Kaleidoscope Juicery, Several AZ locations
Mora Italian, Phoenix
Zinburger, 6 AZ locations
Picazzo’s, 6 AZ locations. Mainly GF menu of specialty pizzas and Italian food, voted as the best GF restaurant in the area. They offer cauliflower crusts, too!
Diego Pops, Scottsdale
The Henry, Phoenix
The Mission, Old Town Scottsdale & Kierland
Sumo Maya, Scottsdale
Gelato Cimmino, Scottsdale
Chelsea’s Kitchen, Phoenix
LDV Winery, Scottsdale
Arizona Stronghold Vineyard, Old Town Scottsdale & Cottonwood
The Wine Collective, Scottsdale
Carlson Creek Vineyards, Scottsdale
Ocean Prime, Phoenix. Not 100% GF but has options and good reviews; seafood restaurant
Have you been to AZ and know of some other great GF spots? If you have, let me know in the comments, I would love to hear. :-) xoxo, Celiac Sweetie
